charted more than 30 singles, 18 reached Number One. Third most by any artist in any genre during the 1980’s, after Alabama and Ronnie Milsap.
Before moving to Nashville he worked in a steel mill near Portsmouth, Ohio.
Once in Nashville he played clubs in Nashville at night, supporting himself by working blue-collar jobs during the day.
Passed away on April 10, 2019, from cerebral atrophy.
