1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program
The Lafayette Public Library is looking forward to cooler weather in October as well as a new children’s program. This month marks the kickoff of our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program!
Reading with your child from birth helps build language, literacy, and social-emotional skills as well as a lifelong love of reading! If you read one book a day, you will complete the program in three years. If you read three books a day you will complete the program in just one year. Get a prize for signing up!
Participants will receive prizes at the 250, 500, 750, and 1000 books milestones, along with an annual celebration for ALL program participants to take place in August. When your child reaches a milestone, go to your favorite library location to pick up his or her prize and take a picture with our specially designed photo op frame!
