The excitement of high school baseball playoffs continues to build across South Louisiana this weekend, with several key matchups on the Division One schedule. In the non-select bracket, Live Oak is set to host Northshore, while Benton will welcome Sulphur for what promises to be a pair of intense contests. On the other side, Slidell will travel to face Sam Houston, and Dutchtown will journey to take on Barbe.
Turning our attention to Division One select, the stakes are high as Catholic of Baton Rouge prepares to host John Curtis. Baseball fans in the area will also watch the matchup between Jesuit and Saint Thomas More, played at Saint Thomas More. Elsewhere in the division, Brother Martin is gearing up to host Ponchatoula, and Acadiana will travel to challenge Holy Cross.
The Division Two non-select playoffs saw North Vermilion secure a series victory over Iota, and they will now head to Brusly for their next challenge. Iowa is also on the road, traveling to face West Ouachita, while Lutcher will enjoy home-field advantage as they host Rayne. West Feliciana will be hitting the road to take on North DeSoto.
In Division Two select action, Teurlings Catholic is preparing to host Archbishop Shaw, and Vanderbilt Catholic will travel to Buckeye. Loyola Prep is set to welcome Archbishop Hannan, while ED White will be on the road to play Saint Charles.
Moving into Division Three non-select, Sterlington will have the home crowd advantage as they host French Settlement. Kaplan will travel to take on Westlake, South Beauregard will host Berwick, and Jena is set to travel to Erath.
On the Division Three select side, Parkview Baptist will host Dunham, who are coming off a victory against the Notre Dame Pioneers. Saint Louis Catholic will travel to face Catholic of New Iberia, while Pope John Paul II is set to host Episcopal. Calvary Baptist will head to Baton Rouge for a matchup against University Lab.
The Division Four non-select playoffs are currently in the regional rounds this week. Lake Arthur will travel to Oak Grove, Montgomery will be on the road against Centerville, and East Iberville will travel to Oakdale. Haynesville, fresh off a 2-1 victory over Midland, will travel to Mangham. DeQuincy is set to host La Salle, and Logansport will travel to Benton.
Division Four select teams are also in the midst of their regional matchups this week. The number one seed, Covenant Christian, will host Saint Martin’s Episcopal. Finally, in Class C, Family Christian will host St. Joseph’s of Plaucheville, False River will travel to Calvin, and Hackberry will host Simpson. Singer, who recently defeated the Northside Christian Warriors, will travel to Ebard. Maurepas will host Plainview, Claiborne Christian will travel to Hornbeck, Georgetown will host Saline, and Reeves will travel to Harrisonburg.
