The City of Scott hosted an event on Friday evening to celebrate Independence Day. A DJ provided favorites for the crowd, and it was at the Begnaud House by the roundabout. The Scott KCs provided refreshments and a free meal.

For three years, this event has been growing each year. This year, it fell at a time when Scott was mourning one of its beloved citizens, Dot Stelly Derouen. To honor her, the Begnaud House bestowed an honor on another one of Scott’s beloved citizens, Ronnie Landry, who is the Grand Knight of the Scott KCs.

Ronnie Landry was awarded the Dot Stelly Derouren Sprint Of Community Award.
