Sheriff Don Breaux passed away on Wednesday morning. Sherriff Breaux was the sheriff for 16 years until his retirement in 2000. His legacy as a leader in law enforcement is large. Sheriff Mark Garber remembered his mentor:
“He was not only a mentor, he was my friend. He was a dedicated public servant and was ahead of his time. Sheriff Breaux is part of the foundation that is today’s Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office.”
